Thank God in All Things

1 Chronicles 29:12-14

Introduction

  • Trying to help ourselves, only takes us on a longer route
  • At times, we never get there –but come into destruction
  • Sometimes, when we eventually get there, there’s no joy or happiness

Thank God for what He’s done

Psalm 30:11-12

  • We ask so much from God which He grants
  • Deuteronomy 28:63a: Without asking, out of love, God blesses us and makes our way prosperous
  • Luke 17:16-18 (of the ten cleansed): When we have received from Him, we forget to show gratitude.
  • How do we think that makes Him feel? How would you feel when someone takes the credit for what you have done?
  • Isaiah 42: 8, 48:11c: This is the Lord of ALL things, Who has openly declared that He will not share His glory!

Thank God for what He will do

  • Psalm 48:14: When we thank Him for what He has done, He will do more
  • So, thank Him for what you want Him to do for you.
  • Thank Him by way of praises and rejoicing that you already have what you desire from Him –that’s faith
  • If He was not thinking of doing it, because He dwells in your praises, He will answer.

Thank God for what He will not do

Numbers 22:21 – 33

  • While the first two are relatively easier, this one is not easy to comprehend and follow. It takes a spirit-filled person to understand and apply this wisdom. 2 Corinthians 12:8 (Paul asked God 3x, but was refused):
  • What God will not do for you, is something that you do not need in your life –at least, at that point in time.
  • 3 John 2, 1 Corinthians 10:13: You should be grateful that without paying consultation fee, there was a diagnosis and an operation to remove what would have cost you much more in life.
  • Romans 8:28: Because, He loves you, God will not allow a thing that will destroy you to come to you, even when you ask Him for it.

Finally

Ephesians 5:20 give thanks always for all things

Romans 14:5-7 whether good or bad

1 Thessalonians 5:18 in all things.

Let us pray for forgiveness, and thank Him.
